  1. Competition Information
    • There are two divisions. The Adam Smith division is for students who have taken regular-level economics courses and never particapted in the challenge before. The David Ricardo divison is for advanced placement, international baccalaurate, and honors students.
    • Each school can register as many teams of four as they want to.
    • The first round encompasses all teams within a state, with the state champion advancing to the National Semi-Finals. The eight highest-scoring teams from each divison advance to the National Finals.
  2. Strategy
    • For Connecticut, the state competition is an online test taken individually by all team members. This test has 25 questions with no guessing penalty.
    • A team's total score is calculated by taking the average of the top three scores (so the lowest score is ignored). The team with the highest score in their division advances to the National Semi-Finals.
